Series: “Am I a Good Person?”
How Does Your Attitude Influence Your Behavior?
When we disagree with something, we attack or push away; this is a survival tactic. We adapt to comfortable settings, doing our best to preserve our peace.
For instance, if you don’t like someone because of their appearance or how they act, you either stay away or criticize (verbally or inside your head); this reinforces your deflective behavior. Eventually, as you continue to do this, a habitual reaction manifests.
To better ourselves, we must become aware of our reactions; they are clear‑cut signs of our own personal strengths and weaknesses. To do this, see how your attitude changes when confronted with an uncomfortable situation.
